SPC is an alliance built on both sides of the specification.

Purpose

The purpose is product-to-project alignment.

SPC Alliance bridges the gap between manufacturer product expertise and the way building systems and products are evaluated, specified, coordinated and delivered across all divisions.

The alliance is a member organization of door, frame and hardware manufacturers and the spec writers, architects and building owners who work with their products. Its work translates technical knowledge into tools, content, education and guidance that support better decisions from early evaluation through installation.

SPC Alliance is independent. It carries no product lines, and it holds the same standard for every product it touches: code compliance, documented performance and transparent materials. That independence sets the direction of the work ahead. The alliance is building toward a new standard for the full opening system catalogue, product-neutral and organized for specification, with technological integration and technical expertise behind it, so a design team can compare what the market makes on one set of criteria. Verified documentation, open sections, education and genuine partnership on the technical challenges are the first layers of it.

Member manufacturers bring product expertise and a commitment to documented performance. Membership connects a company's team to a coordinated network of specifiers, technical advisors and industry professionals, and to the thought leadership and content work the alliance produces.

How the work is done

Education comes first, and promotion follows demonstrated expertise.

SPC content is educational, specific and free of sales pressure. Courses, posts and guide sections teach one thing a project needs, and member visibility follows from that.

Specification writing is credited to the alliance's spec writer members, the people who write these sections professionally. The alliance itself carries no product lines and authors no specifications.

Where a course carries credit, it is registered with the relevant providers. Final accreditation and compliance approval always remains with the accrediting body.
